Core Values
- Burden for the Lost (Matthew 28:19-20) God's grace knows no boundaries. NMSI likes to focus on groups generally being neglected including those in post-Christian and hard to access areas.
- Financial Accountability (Luke 16:1-2) We are pretty frugal and we use many volunteers. We are serious about good stewardship whether it means buying at discount, using donated goods and services or doing without until we have the money. During any given week more than a dozen volunteers work for NMSI. Many of these are professionals using their expertise to further our global ministry.
- Value of the Individual (2 Peter 3:9) We believe each person has been gifted for some level of ministry and is infinitely valuable to God. Our job at NMSI is to help each individual reach their God-given potential.
- Life-Long Learning (Proverbs 18:15) We believe in sharpening the saw. We seek to continue growth in knowledge, wisdom, professionalism and in our understanding of God and His will.
- Holy Spirit Led (Galatians 5:16) Above all we just want to do what God wants us to do. NMSI seeks to partner with the Holy Spirit and actively listen to God. We expect spiritual growth individually and corporately.
- Christian Unity (John 17) Our people network with a variety of Christian groups. We believe Jesus' prayer in John 17 compels us to display unity with all Christians.
- Ethical Behavior (Proverbs 24:26) We are not perfect but we strive for godliness. NMSI deals with affiliates and prospective affiliates with integrity, honesty, humility, and vulnerability. We expect hard work and perseverance from each individual.
- Innovation (Matthew 25:14-30) We would rather take a risk and fail, than not try at all. NMSI creatively approaches global dilemmas, believing God desires us to seek bold solutions in cooperation with those whom He has called.
- Humor (Proverbs 17:22) Laughter is good for the body and good for the soul. Our work is serious, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We have fun doing what God has called us to do.
